This site explains the various types of college financial aid
that are made available by the U.S. Department of Education.
There are links to scholarships, grants, work study, and loans
that are awarded based on strict formulas that calculate any
students' ability to pay for college. The site also allows you
(for a fee) to fill out your financial aid application online.
Just for the record, there is a fee involved whether you complete
your application online or on paper.
fastWEB! (Financial Aid Search Through the Web)
An online (FREE!) search service for college scholarships that
are based on need, merit (grades, character, etc.) and just
about any other criteria you can imagine. After you submit an
online profile of yourself by answering questions concerning
your skills, accomplishments, and background, scholarships you
might be eligible for are suggested, along with the addresses/phone
numbers you will need. One nice feature allows you to set up
an online mailbox which you can check every few days to receive
updates on new scholarships.

that allow you determine precisely how much money the U.S. Department
of Education thinks that you should be able to contribute to
your college education (based on your family's economic situation),
