Online Cookbooks

Chocolate Recipes by Godiva
A lovely, content-rich site, useful to anyone interested in creating chocolate desserts.  You can search for recipes by category (cake, pastry, crepes, etc.), difficulty level, occasion (a birthday, for instance), or season (spring, summer, winter, or fall).  The advanced search feature even allows you to find recipes containing a particular ingredient.  Each recipe is illustrated with a thumbnail which links to a large, exceptionally clear photograph in leap-off-the-screen color.  Extras include a "Chocolate Trivia" section, tips on working with chocolate, and a history of chocolate.

Cookie Recipes
Another dessert recipe file, this one from All Recipes focuses on cookies that offers 4,060 options of recipes. Sections include New Recipes and a "Top 20" list; a nice touch are reviews provided from those who have tried the recipe.

Epicurious Recipe File
This site is searchable by ethnic origin of the recipe, meal/course (breakfast, lunch, dinner, beverage, etc.), ingredients, season or occasion, and even by cooking technique (poach, roast, saute...).  You can also search for a specific dish.  One particularly nice extra allows you to organize your favorite Epicurious recipes in your own online recipe file.

RecipeSource
This site provides an extensive collection of recipes (almost 60,000 at present), searchable by keyword.  You can also browse broad food categories such as "desserts," narrow categories such as "brownies," recipes from various countries or ethnic groups, holiday recipes, & even crafts and beauty products featuring food items.

Student Cookbook @ YUMYUM.com
An online cookbook geared to students without a lot of time or money to spend on food.  The recipes are divided into the categories:  Salad, Soup, Ground Beef, Chicken, Eggs, Fish, Pork & Lamb Chops, Vegetables, Dips, Desserts, and Sandwiches & Snacks--and all seem pretty easy to prepare.

Veggies Unite!
You'll find a wealth of information on becoming a vegetarian here, with topics including: foods that contain crucial vitamins & minerals, composting & gardening, a searchable recipe index, vegan philosophy, vegetarian events held around the country, and a list of books and magazines on vegetarianism.  Interactive features include a "Grocery List Maker," "Weekly Meal Planner," & the "Nutritional Analysis Tool."  A donation (you choose the amount) is requested but not required when you access the interactive features.
